


About the Instructors
Lindsey Hudson, Dance School Owner, SDTA-Member
Lindsey began highland dancing in 1989, in Miramichi, NB as one of the first members of the Landry School of Dance. She has since remained dedicated to the sport for over 26 years. Lindsey is a Member of the Scottish Dance Teachers Alliance (SDTA), and registered with ScotDance Nova Scotia and the Halifax Highland Dance Association. Lindsey's successful competitive dance career entailed performing across Canada and internationally, with accomplishments including: 13 consecutive New Brunswick Provincial Championship titles, 1st runner-up in several Atlantic Canadian Championships, and winning medals at many ScotDance Canada Championship Series events. Lindsey's cherished dance memories include travelling with family to competitions, dancing at the World Highland Dance Championship trials in Cowal Scotland (2006), and performing during a visit of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburg (2004).
Lindsey began teaching dance in Fredericton with the Barbara Murray School of Dance while completing her Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees at St. Thomas University. After moving to Halifax, she became a casual teacher with Celtic Rhythm Studios until, in September 2013, Lindsey realized a lifelong goal when she opened her own dance school. She has been thrilled to share her love of highland dance with a new generation of dancers and especially, her 1 year old daughter Ellie. Lindsey completed a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology in 2010 and is a Career Counsellor at Saint Mary’s University.
Monica Jardine, Associate Teacher, SDTA - Associate (Candidate)
Monica began Highland Dance classes in Halifax, NS at the age of 10. She participated in her first competition that very same year! Monica went on to compete regionally, nationally and internationally, including the ScotDance Canada Championship Series events in Sydney, Ottawa, Montreal and Vancouver. In 2002, Monica was honored to represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Championships held in Vancouver, where she placed 1st in the Fling and 3rd in the Jig during the pre-championship events. Monica’s competitive dance career includes multiple Champion and Runner-up titles from Championship competitions in Atlantic Canada. Outside of competing, Monica has a diverse performance background, including being a member of Heatherbre and Amethyst dance troupes, and dancing in the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo. Monica is currently studying for her Associate's level Scottish Dance Teacher's Certification with Celtic Rhythm Studios.
Monica and her husband moved to the Brookside area 9 years ago. They now reside is Hatchet Lake with their two young boys, Camden and Brycen.
